Who We Are

Founders : CEO | Director of Media

Rev. Tammy Melton, LPC is the founder and CEO of Legacy Ministries for Christ, Incorporated.  Tammy has recently started Legacy Freedom, LLC for her speaking and writing. Tammy and Bill have been married since 1986 and have two adult daughters, Amy, and Amber who married Jacob in 2023. The Meltons currently live in Fayetteville, Georgia. Their home church is Trinity Fellowship in Sharpsburg, Georgia.

Tammy received a Bachelor of Music Education from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia, a Bachelor of Theology from Christian Life School of Theology in Columbus, Georgia, and a Master of Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Georgia. Tammy also holds ministerial credentials with Harvest Network International. She has served the local church both on staff and as a lay minister in the areas of music, children’s and youth ministry, Sunday School teacher for all ages, women’s ministry, and training and equipping people in the church. Her heart’s passion is to help others find their spiritual gifts and motivate them to get involved in the ministry of the church and beyond. She is also a speaker for churches, retreats, seminars, and mission trips abroad.

Bill Melton co-founded Legacy Ministries with Tammy and is our Director of Media, handling all audio and video functions. He retired from Public School education in 2017 with over 30 years as a Band Director, serving most of that time in Fayette County, GA. He is currently an active private lesson instructor, composer, music evaluation judge and school instrumental band clinician. His students have participated in District Honor Band, Georgia All State Band, Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony, and the Governor’s Honors program. In addition to his musical expertise, Bill has a passion for audio and visual technologies, leading him to start Top Tier Media Productions more than 15 years ago. His business provides media solutions to individuals and organizations.

Ministry & Training | Administration

Pastors Chris and Cathy Gardner joined Legacy Ministries in 2024. They have been married since 1983 after meeting at a US Navy school for Meteorology and Oceanography. They have two sons — Jacob (married to Lisa) and Adam (married to Wendy) — and a daughter — Rebecca (married to Mike). They have eight grandchildren ranging from 14 years old to 5 years old. They moved from Minnesota to Sharpsburg, Georgia to become members of the Legacy Ministries team.

Chris, our Director of Ministry and Training, is an Information Technology Executive Advisor for an enterprise software solutions provider. He is ordained with Harvest Network International and has served as the Founding and Lead Pastor of a House Church as well as the leader of multiple workplace faith employee groups. He has a passion for discipleship and missions as well as teaching on a wide variety of Biblical topics. He has spoken at small gatherings as well as large events for prayer breakfasts, workshops, seminars, and more.

Cathy, our Director of Administration, has a wealth of experience across a wide variety of roles. She has led briefings for the Pentagon, operated an early childhood education center, managed a retail floral shop, was office manager for two churches, taught and led the Sunday School department for many years, led the chaperone team for a high school marching band, and spent over 15 years operating a home daycare business. She has a passion for educating and discipling younger generations in order to ensure that they receive sound doctrine and develop critical thinking skills.

Office Manager

Carol Winkles joined Legacy Ministries as an Office Manager in 2019 but has been affiliated with Legacy Ministries for many years as a speaker/volunteer. Carol and David have been married since 1996 and have two amazing children, Amber (who is married to Colton Barnes) and Joshua. David has worked as a paramedic/firefighter for Peachtree City for over 25 years and currently serves as a Division Chief. Carol was ordained through Servanthood Ministries and later with Arising to Excellence. She enjoys teaching the Word of God and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the hurting and broken of this world.
